Spill Proof and Still Washable

The polyester surface has a water, oil and stain resistant finish, so coffee, soda or soy sauce sits on top long enough to blot or wipe off.

In AATCC 22 water-repellency testing, the finish scored 100 when new and still 90 after ten washes.

Spill Proof Rug FAQs

What does "stain-resistant" mean for a rug?

It means the fibers are treated so liquids sit on the surface instead of soaking straight in, which gives you time to blot or wipe. It lowers the chance of a stain, but a spill left for hours can still mark the rug.

Is there a rug that is urine-proof?

No rug is fully urine-proof. On these, a fresh accident beads up long enough to blot it, and the rug can go in the washing machine on a cold, gentle cycle if anything soaks in.

What is the most stain-resistant rug material?

Synthetic fibers such as polyester and polypropylene resist stains better than natural fibers, and an added stain-resistant finish helps further. These rugs pair a polyester pile with that kind of finish.
