Bright Red to Brick
Bright, true red mostly shows up in plaids, checks and simple bordered designs, while brick, reddish brown and red on navy show up in the vintage Persian and tribal prints. The deeper shades are easier to live with year-round and show spills less than bright red.
Two-color styles pair red with navy, green or gray, from Persian medallions to checkerboards and a reversible red and gray outdoor rug.
Where a Red Rug Works
Red draws the eye, so it works best where you want one focal point: a runner down a hallway, a rug under the dining table or a small rug at the front door. In a living room, keep the sofa and walls neutral and let a red Persian or plaid carry the color.
Most red styles here stop at 8x10, and only a handful go up to 9x12 or 10x14, so check the size list on each rug for a large room.
Rug and Mat Care
Wash indoor rugs without bleach so the red stays even, and follow the care label for drying. Use the cushioned kitchen mats on dry floors only and wipe up spills around them promptly.

| Wash Free rugs | Wipe spills, wash occasionally |

Red Rug FAQs
Are red rugs in style?
Yes, especially deep reds, brick and red-on-navy Persian patterns, which read warm rather than loud. Bright red plaids work more as a seasonal statement.
Why are Persian rugs red?
Traditional Persian rugs were often dyed with madder root, which gives reds from brick to deep crimson, so red became the classic background color. Our Persian-style prints borrow that palette on a washable low pile.
What color couch would look good with a red rug?
Neutral couches in cream, beige, gray or tan let a red rug stand out without clashing. Navy and dark green also work, especially next to red-and-navy Persian or red-and-green plaid styles.
