Green Rugs

Our green washable rugs run from soft sage and olive to deep forest green. Prints include faded vintage Persians, botanical florals, tigers and checkerboards, mostly low pile with a non-slip backing, in 2x3 to 10x14 plus 2x6 and 2x10 runners. A few patio rugs, one Wash Free rug and a kitchen mat set are mixed in.

Sage, Olive and Forest Green

Sage and olive styles here are mostly faded vintage Persian prints, so the green reads soft and grayed and sits next to beige, gray or wood almost like a neutral. Deep forest and dark green show up in botanical florals and woodland animal designs, which hide crumbs and pet hair better than a pale rug.

Two-tone designs mix green with beige, brown, red or navy, from Persian medallions to plaid and checkerboard. For kids' rooms there are tiger, panda, fox and soccer-field prints.

Colors That Go With Green

Green sits between warm and cool colors, so it works with most wood tones and with both warm and cool neutrals. If the rug has a second color, repeat it once in a pillow or throw.

Green Rugs by Room

Sage and olive Persians are calm enough for a living room or bedroom, while dark green prints hide drips in a kitchen or hallway.

Indoor rugs machine wash cold on a gentle cycle without bleach; follow the care label for drying. The Wash Free rug lets spills bead up and wipe off, so it needs washing far less often.

Of the patio rugs, the Lamina and Veina styles are machine washable. The reversible palm-leaf rug is swept or hosed off, and the 2-piece kitchen mats wipe clean with a damp cloth on dry floors.

Green Rug FAQs

Are green rugs trendy right now?

Yes. Sage, olive and deep forest green have become a common alternative to gray and beige, because they add color while still sitting calmly with wood floors and neutral sofas.

Is a green rug a good idea?

It is if you want color without much risk, since muted sage and olive behave almost like a neutral. A patterned green rug also hides everyday dirt better than a pale solid one.

What does a green rug symbolize?

Green is tied to nature, growth and calm, which is why it shows up so often in bedrooms, reading corners and botanical rooms. Sage and olive lean earthy, while dark green feels more traditional.
